Begonia Flower Festival

On 1st of May, I went to join the Begonia Festival at 10:30 am with my classmates Cheaster, Sky, King , Eric ,Dannis, Rita and so on.This festival was hold in Mo Chou Lake Park, a very beautiful place near my home.

We met each other at the gate of the park, we bought the tickets and then went into the park. After I went into the park, I saw may trees and flowers in it and many people played and walked in it.Most of them were children and old people, they must like the good environment and the fresh air there, because it was

The ''Begonia Flower Festival'' was held in a little garden in this park which had grown a lot of malus trees, but may be it is too early now, we haven't seen any begonia flowers on malus trees.That made us disappointed.

Actually, I didn't like the Begonia Flower Festival very much. The main reason was I haven't seen any begonia flowers and the malus trees are just like other trees in the park. Secondly, went to a park is not very interesting for our ages but I loved the fresh air there and the beautiful environment there!

Volunteer for the chiidren

All Saturadays of April, I went to Hou Zaimen community with my classmates in a group of four to taught students there for 10 hours. The students were the children that lived in this community.

The duties for us to do was to help the students with their homework and to teach them some new things. Each person usually taught one child at once. I have taught five girls for five times, each of them are from different grades in primary school. They usually ask me questions about English and Maths.

The most interesting girl I have taught was a lovely girl in grade 2, she wanted me to taught her English. She said she can't read the new words and the sentences so I read first and let her follow me. She could read it very clearly, but after 30 minutes, I found a problem, If I let her read the sentence by herself, she always forgot how to read it. That's made me repeat the sentences again and again.After she could read it by herself, I also felt very tired and thirsty.

Some children put chinese under the sentence to help them read it but It isn't the meaning of these sentence but the homophony of these sentence. It was a bad way to learn English, I helped them erase these Chinese and told them the ture way of learning English. I remembered that when I was a Primary school student, my teacher also taught me too, because at that time I did this wrong thing at the beginning of studying English too.

I think this kind of volunteer is meaningful for us, it can told us every work is difficult espeacilly teachers, because teach someone who doesn't know anything must be a hard work, they need to explain one thing by themslf in a different way and they need to do more homework than you.

When you feel tired, think about the teacher!

Fantastic Fashion show

On 27th of April, GCA hold a fashion show at 5:30 in the afternoon. I attended it with almost all GCA students and teachers.

This show was very exciting for us, the clothes for models are all designed by students. Some teachers were attended the fashion show too, such as Ms.Bartell, Ms.Hadly and Ms.Chu...They were all attractive by the beautiful flowers in their heads and their beautiful dress. Helen, Rita, Joe, Elva and Sky are models of our class, so I helped them hold the cellphones during they gave us the show on the stadge because the clothes we designed have no pockets.

The cloth which I most like is the dress on the model Cherry.It is an dark blue evening dress which must be made of silk. This dress seemed to be very long and can reach the feet.Cherry also held a mark on her hand and paint her face little bit black, that maked her like a princess from another country like india and be different from other models!

I like this fashion show very much, because it can not only show us the fantastic cloths but show us that not only models on the TV can be the best, we can did it too, and not only the clothes designer can design the beautiful clothes we can did it too!

The experience in “Jiangsu Provincial art museum”

On the March 14, 2009, I went to the “Jiangsu Provincial art museum” in Chang Jiang Road to visit the beautiful artworks with my classmates, Rita, King, Jim, Sky and William.

I choose this exhibition because it was free and famous. The artworks there were all the pictures about cows because this year is the year of OX and most of people like cows better than other animals in this year.

The artwork that I most like is about a caw mother and a calf. The caw mother is leading the calf to go ahead. From the eyes of the caw mother, we could feel the love of the caw mother to her child, just like human. The person who most loves you is you mother.

Actually, I don’t like this exhibition, because it is very boring! There were a few people in it and most of them were old people and no one took us around the exhibition, so we felt boring and went out of the exhibition quickly after we took the photos of the artworks.

A wonderful dinner in Da Yu

On the evening of 14th of March, I went to a restaurant to have dinner in 1912 with my classmates, Elaine, Rita, Jim, Matt, William, Sky and so on . The name of the restaurant is Da Yu and it is a Japanese restaurant for which in 1912 and in Japan is famous. .

When we arrived in Da Yu ,It was nearly 4:00 in the afternoon .We started to read the menu and choose the food .The food in Da Yu is cheaper than Tacos for us .I ate “Fried rice with pineapple”. In all, I spent 20 RMB there.

I think this restaurant is good, because I haven’t waited the food for a long time and the food are delicious and they are different from the food I usually eat. For example, the way for cooking is Japanese style and some of were cold, but I don’t like them .The environment is very good, colorful lights, wires and beautiful waitresses.

There were not many people there because we were early .Some of them were people from Japan and some of them were young couples. I will recommend others to go there but remember one thing, that is bring enough money, because some of the food there are expensive!

performance in Foreign Language Festival

This is the second time for me to attend the Festival of Nanjing Foreign Language School.
We danced in the Foreign Language School in the Great Hall Of The People on seventh of March.

We knew that we can dance in the Foreign Language Festival when Vera and Elva told us. We knew we need to pay 300yuan for the teacher to teach us, this must be expensive because the teacher only has three classes with us, but we need the performance time and the club time for portfolio, it is very important! Though we have showed on the Sports Festival, we haven’t taken the pictures, so it is unbelievable for the teacher, so we attended it. Actually, It is also a good time to show myself, because I love dancing.

We paid almost all our energy on it. We tried our best to learn it without talking during the learning time, and we used all Chinese Classes to practice it(we knew it is wrong, but we had to do it with no time and no choice).

At the backstage we felt very excited, because so many people here wanted to look our show. I have no time to think about if I would make some mistakes, what should I do. Soon, I got onto the stage. “Yes, It is cool! I am very beautiful!” I told to myself.

Everybody saw me said we have got a success, yes! It is because of the confidence and the team experience we have learned.
